USCIS has changed its Photograph Reuse policy. USCIS may only reuse a previously collected photo if, at the time of filing, no more than 36 months (3 years) have passed since the date the photo was collected at a Biometrics Services Appointment.

This policy applies to all immigration benefit requests, except for applications that require the collection of new biometrics, including a new photograph (Form N-400, Application for Naturalization; Form N-600, Application for Certificate of Citizenship; Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card; and Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status).

This policy went into effect on December 12, 2025.
