Foreigners without a Permanent Resident Card or Green Card (holders of a valid US re-entry permit, refugee travel document or advance parole travel document) who intend to enter Mexico on visitor conditions without permission to perform paid activities for a period of 180 days or less.
Foreigners who wish to travel to Mexico with the intent to conduct remunerated activities for less than 180 days, they can apply for a Working Tourist Visa via Mexico Embassy with approval from the National Immigration Institute (INM). Once this visa expires, you may not renew it.
There are certain exemptions (depending on where the foreign national is from, which permanent residence has, and holding specific valid visas from abroad), in which individuals may be allowed to work remotely from Mexico for a foreign company without a Mexican visa.
Based on (i) nationality (ii) residency, or (iii) holding a specific valid visa from other countries, there might be visa exemptions available to foreigners who are considered as non-lucrative visitors for a stay up to 180 days. These are:
Non-lucrative visitors are the following: business visitor, tourism, in transit, correspondent, medical treatment individuals. Although there is not a visa requirement for these exempted individuals, they are required to present certain documentation when arriving to Mexico.
