FY 2026 H-1B Cap Initial Registration Period Opens on March 7

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that the registration period for the fiscal year 2026 H-1B cap will open from noon Eastern on March 7 to noon Eastern on March 24, 2025. Petitioners must register each beneficiary using a USCIS online account and pay a $215 registration fee.

  • New H-1B petitioners need to create an organizational account.
  • Existing accounts for previous fiscal years will be converted if not used for FY 2025.
  • Registrations will be selected based on unique beneficiaries, and notifications will be sent by March 31.
  • A temporary increase in the daily credit card limit for registration fees has been approved, now at $99,999.99.
  • Enhancements for organizational accounts include allowing paralegals to work with multiple legal representatives and features for easier data management.
