Important Update: H-1B Initial Registration Period for FY 2025

Today, on March 6th, the initial registration period for the FY 2025 H-1B Cap petitions has opened and will run through noon Eastern on March 22nd, 2024. A new organizational account is required to participate in the FY 2025 H-1B Electronic Registration Process. With the new organizational account platform, companies and their legal representatives can collaborate on registrations and the online filing of Form I-129 for H-1B petitions. For FY 2025, the H-1B registration fee remains $10.

The recently finalized final rule includes a new beneficiary-centric approach, where USCIS will associate each registrant with a single passport or travel document, serving as the beneficiary’s unique identifier. USCIS will require beneficiaries to provide valid passport or travel document information when registering for the H-1B Cap. If selected in the H-1B Cap, individuals will be chosen based on their passport information rather than by registration.

It is important to highlight a new requirement: the passport or travel document provided must be the one the beneficiary intends to use to enter the United States if issued an H-1B visa.

Starting April 1st, 2024, USCIS will begin accepting online filing of Form I-129, Petition for a nonimmigrant Worker, for H-1B Cap petitions, along with any associated Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service, from petitioners whose registrations have been selected. We will announce the availability of online filing for non-cap H-1B petitions later, as soon as it is available on USCIS website.

Stay informed by attending USCIS national engagement session on online filing scheduled for March 28th, and additional Tech Talks on organizational accounts throughout March and April. Following these engagements, we will update our partners on the latest developments.

We eagerly anticipate a collaborative engagement in the upcoming months on FY 2025 H-1B Cap petitions and I-129 H-1B petitions alike. Our services are readily available to provide assistance throughout the process, ensuring a seamless and successful immigration journey for your organization and employees.

Thank you for your continued cooperation as we keep you updated throughout the H-1B registration and filing process for FY 2025.
